I’m Amala, Textile designer specialising in embroidery and embellishment. I utilise non-conventional methods of fabric manipulations to design my products.
My work includes creating lace-like structures with digital embroidery for exterior glass panels, where my aim was to enhance blandly constructed buildings. With my most recent project, I recreated a version of embellishment which is popular within the high end and couture market, discovering a non-conventional process of mass producing beadwork by trapping recycled polystyrene beads between fabrics.
